Titus’ Arch

In early October while Dr. Dean and his wife were in Rome they had the tremendous opportunity to see Titus’s Arch of Triumph celebrating his victory over the rebellious Jews. One reason it is important is that it clearly shows that one of the spoils of that war, which destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple in AD 70, was the enormous gold menorah from the Temple, which was taken along with other plunder from the Temple, to Rome. This article on what the original would have looked like, was published in Ha’aretz just the week before.
