Galatians 5:16-23 teaches that at any moment we are either walking by the Holy Spirit or according to the sin nature. Walking by the Spirit, enjoying fellowship with God, walking in the light are virtually synonymous. During these times, the Holy Spirit is working in us to illuminate our minds to the truth of Scripture and to challenge us to apply what we learn. But when we sin, we begin to live based on the sin nature. Our works do not count for eternity. The only way to recover is to confess (admit, acknowledge) our sin to God the Father and we are instantly forgiven, cleansed, and recover our spiritual walk (1 John 1:9). Please make sure you are walking by the Spirit before you begin your Bible study, so it will be spiritually profitable.

Passage: 1 Peter 4:5-6 & 1 Corinthians 3:12-15
Series: 1 Peter (2015)
Duration: 1 hr 8 mins 35 secs

What does it mean when the Bible says that everyone must give an account of themselves to God? Listen to this lesson to see that every person born into this world will face an evaluation by God. For the believer this is called the Judgment Seat of Christ where we will be evaluated in order to determine our rewards and responsibilities. For the unbeliever, there is the Great White Throne of God. Hear what aspects of a person’s life will be judged there to see whether or not they are qualified to live with God forever. Hear about the Lamb’s Book of Life and the Book of Works. Understand that sinful man cannot perform righteous deeds. Realize that the Lake of Fire is a reality. When talking to unbelievers help them to see that sin is no longer an issue since Christ cancelled the sin debt on the Cross but the focus is on belief in Christ.

This lesson also includes Revelation 20:11–15.

Series: Matthew (2013)
Duration: 47 mins 48 secs
"Forgive him? You don't know what you're asking. He doesn't deserve to be forgiven." Listen to this lesson to see that believers can't expect to be forgiven by God for what they've done wrong when they're refusing to forgive others. Learn about four categories of forgiveness and how Christ died for the sins of all mankind but that forgiveness is only applied when someone trusts in Christ as their Savior. Learn how many times Jesus taught that we should forgive others and see that at times there are consequences to our sins even when we're forgiven.
