Galatians 5:16-23 teaches that at any moment we are either walking by the Holy Spirit or according to the sin nature. Walking by the Spirit, enjoying fellowship with God, walking in the light are virtually synonymous. During these times, the Holy Spirit is working in us to illuminate our minds to the truth of Scripture and to challenge us to apply what we learn. But when we sin, we begin to live based on the sin nature. Our works do not count for eternity. The only way to recover is to confess (admit, acknowledge) our sin to God the Father and we are instantly forgiven, cleansed, and recover our spiritual walk (1 John 1:9). Please make sure you are walking by the Spirit before you begin your Bible study, so it will be spiritually profitable.

What makes people fall apart and act in devastating ways that cause havoc? Listen to this lesson to hear how two Israelites went into panic mode and tried to curry David’s favor by beheading King Ishbosheth and bringing the head to David. See how David reacted because he was waiting for God to promote him. Find out about a prophecy that said Israel’s rulers would come from the tribe of Judah, including the Messiah. Learn about four possible meanings for the word “Shiloh” and which one is the most probable. Understand that just like David, we don’t need to force things to happen in our lives but we need to take care of the responsibilities we have and let God bring His plans for us to pass at the right time.

Series: Holiday Specials
Duration: 59 mins 13 secs
While the Christmas story is simple enough for even small children to delight in, there are many questions about the Messiah that the Bible must be studied to understand. If you enjoy unraveling conundrums, listen to this lesson to hear about four puzzling questions. First, learn about the promised seed and whether or not Jesus fulfills the prophecies. Then understand why Joseph cannot be either the legal or biological father of the humanity of Jesus. Delve into the question of how God can become a man and why the Messiah is called a stumbling block. The take-away from this lesson is that the questions of life can only be resolved by faith in Jesus Christ alone for eternal salvation.
