1 Peter (2015)

by Robert Dean
Passage: 1 Peter 1:1
Series: 1 Peter (2015)
Duration: 1 hr 2 mins 31 secs
From cowardly denials to fearless leader with phenomenal courage. Listen to this lesson to see how this transformation took place in the life of the Apostle Peter. See how throughout the early days of the church Peter takes control, preaching bold sermons even though threatened by the leaders of the Sanhedrin. Find out how he was always present as new groups of people heard the gospel and accepted the message. Hear about the vision he had of non-kosher food coming down from heaven and how he learned that the Gentiles were now included in the Church. See how he is miraculously delivered from prison and continues Jesus’ healing ministry. Be encouraged that, like Peter, when you focus on the end game and the inheritance waiting for you, you can handle the suffering and trials of your own life.

Passage: 1 Peter 5:1-4
Series: 1 Peter (2015)
Duration: 1 hr 4 mins 49 secs

After Christ’s ascension to Heaven, many believed in Him and on the day of Pentecost received the Holy Spirit and became the body of Christ. Now what? How would this new entity called the Church be administered? Listen to this lesson to hear a lucid and compelling overview of how the Apostles began to organize these believers. Learn that the term elder is the most-used term in the New Testament for the leader of a local church and why pastor is now conventionally used instead. Find out the difference between a descriptive and a prescriptive view of the Book of Acts.

During this class Dr. Dean referenced the Textual Criticism course (taught by Ron Minton) available on the Dean Bible Ministries website.
