It's great to be appreciated and nicer still if we thought people would still be reading high praise of us years later. Listen to this lesson to learn about Paul's commendations in his letter to the Romans. Although little is known about many of these people, there has been much speculation. Heed Paul's warnings about divisive people and allow this lesson to encourage us in our ministry to others

Passage: Romans 15:14-33
Series: Romans (2010)
Duration: 1 hr 2 mins 50 secs
Letters written by famous people give us insight into what mattered to them. The book of Romans is an inspired letter written by the Apostle Paul to the believers in Rome in the 1st century. Listen to this lesson to see how Paul closes out the letter by taking six areas he wrote about in the beginning of the letter and referring to them again in the end. See how he describes a mature believer as someone filled with goodness from the knowledge of the Word of God so they can encourage others to go forward. Follow along as he asks for continual prayer as he faces opposition. Accept the priority he lays out that whatever we do in life we are to serve the ministry.

Passage: Acts 9:19-22
Series: Acts (2010)
Duration: 1 hr 7 mins 32 secs
The conversion of Saul on the road to Damascus is the historical account of an event that had enormous consequences for the Church. Paul’s entourage witnessed this event on their way to round up and persecute believing Jews. Saul was blinded, emotionally stunned, and intellectually challenged. Intense prayer and fasting were the result of Saul’s narrowed focus on the ramifications of this event. After strengthening with food, Saul immediately preached Christ in the synagogues. What does it mean to “preach Christ?” What is the difference between preaching and teaching? What was the response? What are the parallels in Paul’s message and the first message of Jesus when He taught in Nazareth? What is the importance of our physical and spiritual strengthening to the message the Church carries to the world?

Passage: Colossians 1:28
Series: Colossians (2011)
Duration: 50 mins 8 secs
Continuing our review of spiritual gifts, we are reminded that two of these gifts (apostle and prophet) ceased around 95 to 100 A.D. Yet it was primarily through Paul's gift as Apostle that God revealed the Mystery Doctrine. Emphasis is placed on a congregation reaching spiritual maturity, but how is that measured? We learn the steps: understanding, knowledge, and finally wisdom, which is a skillful application of the knowledge we've acquired, which begins and is based upon understanding.

The Apostle Paul refers to "the riches of Christ." How do we attain it, and how does it relate to the Mystery of God?
